Since its designation as a Boston Main Street in 1997, Washington Gateway has guided the development of Washington Street through partnerships with neighborhood organizations, real estate developers, government and businesses. Mobilizing hundreds of volunteers, Gateway's success can be seen today in new businesses, storefront improvements, residential, commercial developments, preservation projects, and rejuvenated open space.
