This painting of a forest's edge beneath a sweeping sky is not of any place in particular, but the overall inspiration came from watching the giant skies that command over the Beech forests in Provincetown, MA in the late Fall.

This painting was inpsired from seeing dozens of dandelions along the side of the road near near the banks of the Charles River in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. I loved the way the stems intertwined and how some of the seed pods withstood the wind that day, maintaining their perfect spherical shape, while others lost most of their seeds to the wind.

This painting of Clovers and Timothy Grass against a blue sky was inspired from a patch of weeds that broke through the asphalt in an abandoned parking lot just across from my studio on Mass Ave in Boston. The perspective could be that of an insect staring up from this miniature urban forest, and as such the noise, chaos, and grit of the busy city are completely lost and give way to the beauty, peace, and tranquility of the natural world - a world that has found a way to survive in such an inhospitable environment, against the odds. These "Urban Wilds" greatly inspire me and provide escape from a world dominated by asphalt and concrete.
